Marcus Chen

Photography found me on a solo trip through Iceland when I was 24. I'd gone to escape a corporate job that was crushing my soul, armed with nothing but a borrowed camera. Standing under the northern lights for the first time, I knew I'd never go back to that cubicle.

Ten years later, I've built a life around chasing light—the golden hour in the fjords, the blue hour in the Arctic, the magical moments when nature puts on a show and you just have to be ready. My approach is slow and deliberate. I often spend weeks in a single location, waiting for the perfect conditions, getting to know the land and the people who call it home.

My work has appeared in National Geographic Traveler, Lonely Planet, and various galleries around the world. But the recognition that matters most is when someone tells me one of my photos inspired them to finally take that trip they'd been dreaming about.
